Hi, friends wish you a Happy Ugadi to each and every one,

Today we are I'm here to share about the festival Ugadi. Another name of Ugadi is Yugaadhi, which means "Starting of New Era". Whatever festivals we celebrate, we must teach to our future generations about the festival not only just the way of celebration but also its values.

I would like to explains a few reasons to celebrate the festival.

Let's start with the season, we celebrate the festival on the first day of Chaitra Masam and comes in the spring season of every year. It's the time Leaf-out and all flowers start blossoms.

We pluck out a few mango branches along with leaf's and decorate to our doors and spray turmeric water all over the house.

  • Reasons for plucking leaf's: It helps trees for better Leaf-out and its flowers to blossom.
  • Spraying Turmeric water all over the house to kill or to avoid bugs or to kill the virus. 
Decorating with flowers: obviously for the pleasant fragrance.

Comes to the special dish: Ugadi Chatni

It's the combination of 6 items which 6 different tastes, so the reason called Shadruchulu.

List of ingredients:
  • Jaggery     -  Sweet - Symbol of Happiness
  • Tamarind   - Sour - Symbol of Unpleasantness
  • Neem Flowers - Bitter - Symbol of Sadness
  • Raw Mango - Tango - Symbol of Surprise
  • Red chili powder/ green chilies/ Pepper powder - Hot/Spice - Symbol of Anger
  • Salt - Salty - Sadness 

These are the 6 tastes that represent the symbol of life which every living being experience in their life cycles. So, we pray to god and intake this recipe showing our gratitude for giving all these emotions. As per elder its also explained that this recipe helps our human body to improve our immune system to fight against the common/seasonal virus which causes health issues. Not only these every festival irrespective of region or religion, along with every dish, and every play has its own benefits based on their locality, climate/season and their weather conditions. 

I'm here to share a few more of my life experiences which I learn from books and others. I just share just a tip and import scientific information about this festival.
